FANUC Robotics has released a heavy-duty robot said to be the world’s largest and strongest six-axis robot.
The M-2000iA line of robots are designed to handle truck, tractor and car parts. It holds the records for size, reach and wrist strength.
The M-2000iA/900L can lift a 900kg payload, and has a vertical stroke of 6.2m, while the M-2000iA/1200 specification handles 1200kg. It can handle objects which previous required two robots.
The robots have ingress protection of IP67 for their wrists, allowing operation in harsh environments.
The robots are operated with the company’s R-30iA controller, which is an open-architecture system with integrated intelligent functions including vision and force sensing.
Besides lifting loads, the robots can also sort parts, and weld in a coordinated manner.
