Poclain has integrated its software to electronically control the operation of the hydrostatic transmissions in its hydraulic drive systems.
All Hydraulics Speed+ drive systems use a computer loaded with the company’s Smartdrive Easy software to regulate the running of the hydrostatic transmission components such as the engine, hydraulic pump, hydraulic motors and brakes.
Sensors and actuators integrated throughout the architecture of the vehicle allows the onboard software detect and control the various components. It also uses programmed acceleration and deceleration ramps to calculate the machine’s ground drive speed. The ramps can be changed to adjust the vehicle’s responsiveness and progressiveness.
According to the company, the combination of flexible electronics and powerful hydraulics makes the system adaptable and suitable for all driving styles.
The drive systems allow users to control hydrostatic transmission, displacement shift, engine rotation speed, power limits, anti-stall, anti-spin, brakes, speed, and signalling. Other parameters can be defined through the software, including the pump, the engine, the motors and the brake valves.
