SIEMENS has upgraded its Simatic Maintenance Station software with new features focusing on diagnostic functionality and plant asset management.
Simatic Maintenance Station is a software option for Siemens’ Simatic WinCC SCADA system. It supports preventive, condition-based and reactive maintenance activities of a plant in a central system.
According to Siemens, the latest version of the Simatic Maintenance Station software now offers functions for the efficient planning and monitoring of maintenance operations and jobs.
Devices in the field can now access the Simatic Maintenance Station via a web client for remote maintenance. Panel PCs with touch controls can be used to carry out diagnostic measures on-site.
Siemens claims the Simatic Maintenance Station software visualises diagnostic and maintenance information from a PC to network components, to controllers, switching, protection and control units, as well as drives.
The software provides the plant operator with a uniform and clear status display. The operator can then clearly identify components, systems and plant units, assess them individually, and, where appropriate, respond quickly to special situations or undertake preventive maintenance measures.
Simatic Maintenance Station passes on maintenance requests to other target systems. All operations are message-based and can be archived in a database which can then be analysed with WinCC.
