TURCK has released new rugged and high-resolution encoders which have die-cast housings, resistance to humidity and moisture, and are suited for outdoor use.
The Sendix single-turn magnetic absolute encoders have 12-bit analogue and 14-bit CANopen outputs, and have fully-encapsulated electronics and separated mechanical assembly. According to the manufacturer, this provides a high resistance to shock up to 500G and vibration.
The encoders are assembled with interlocking bearings on the flange and a mechanically protected shaft seal, protecting the encoder from external debris. They are 36mm in diameter, allowing for flexible installation.
The devices are non-contact and operate in temperatures between negative 40 and 85 degrees Celsius. They are equipped with a light-emitting diode which is used during installation and diagnostics. They also come with an integrated cable or M12 connectors.
The encoders can be programmed via the CANopen bus for for node address, baud rate and termination, delivering fast, error-free start-up. The interface also allows operators to read position and speed data in real time. Custom parameters may also be programmed.
