HI-TECH Metrology is distributing FARO’s latest laser scanner for CAD, 3D modelling and prototyping purposes.
The Laser ScanArm is a seven-axis contact/non-contact measurement device with a fully integrated laser scanner. It can be used for inspection, cloud-to-CAD comparisons, rapid prototyping, reverse engineering and 3D modelling.
Users can collect simple point variations with the unit’s hard probe, then laser scan the sections which need larger volumes of data at a rate of more than 19,000 points per second.
The ScanArm also has an “Auto Material” feature which samples the surface of an object and adjusts the settings for optimal scanning.
