JEMTECH has released an upgraded range of fully-sealed VSY type safety switches with reduced power consumption and high temperature operation.

The Jemtech VSY type RFID-coded safety switches can detect a coded tag at distances of up to 30mm from the sensing head.

According to Jemtech, RFID-coded safety switches have no mechanical parts and thus have better vibration tolerance, while offering long sensing distances.

With no interlocking tongues and other mechanical parts, the safety switches are fully sealed (IP68) and can be use in hygienic and hose-down environments. They can also be used in temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius.

The VSY switches are available with sensing heads on the front, side and back. They work with a variety of coded tags that trade size, cost, sensing distance and area.

Jemtech says there are a variety of tags which cater for all types of gates and doors. The switches interface with JEMTECH safety controllers and relays and provide CAT-3 and CAT-4 protection using a single switch and a pair of controller inputs.
