CNC Design is distributing the SINUMERIK 840D sl machine tool with open interfaces allowing easy integration of auxiliary robots for automated production.
According to CNC Design, the capabilities of the SINUMERIK 840D sl machine tool allows higher machine utilisation as well as flexible change between customised production and automated series production.
The open and standard interfaces of the SINUMERIK 840D sl machine tool means shop floor operators can switch from operator-prompted production operation to automated series production depending on the shift.
CNC Design says industrial robots can be used for loading operations, cutting, welding, or surface machining. Robots can operate machines during non-working shifts, reduce overall cycle time, and increase production quality.
The SINUMERIK 840D sl can also connect to various other machine tools such as automatic lathes, milling machines and grinding machines. One robot can also be used for several machines.
The SINUMERIK 840D sl machine tool is operated and programmed via ShopMill and ShopTurn. Work pieces can be programmed via a graphical user interface.
