Citect celebrates 35 years at user conference

CITECT celebrated 35 years in the real-time intelligence and industrial automation industry at its user conference in August 2008.

The sixth annual Citect Connects Oceania User Conference was held at the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas. It featured product roadmaps, sharing by customers and a ‘Technology Speed Dating’ session which consisted of software tips and tricks.

The event also included keynote presentations from Citect, industry experts and guest speakers, as well as a ‘birthday bash’ for CitectSCADA’s 21st birthday.

A number of big names in the Australian industry presented at the event, including Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, OneSteel and Nestle.

Rio Tinto, for example, presented its implementation of production management software, which is used to monitor plant delays and link with other businesses to ensure coal is loaded and transported efficiently.
